County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service is committed to being open, accountable and transparent to the population it serves and the general public as a whole. The Service is constantly striving to develop a culture of greater openness and awareness. It is important that information of public interest is widely and easily available.
We will provide information about incidents that the Service has attended to some organisations to aid in their investigations for specific reasons.
This information will only be provided to solicitors, insurance companies and loss adjusters who are acting on behalf of the owner/occupier of an affected property which has been recorded within the relevant incident record. Information can also be provided to someone acting on behalf of an individual who has been recorded on the incident record as been injured as a result of the incident. An individual can apply for an incident report summary involving themselves or their property in their own right; however a formal written request will need to be provided and sent to the address below. An email sent from a personal account will not be accepted as a formal request.
Making a request – For a request to be valid, the following criteria must be met:
- Submit a written request (If you are acting on behalf of a client this must be via company letterhead or company email). The request must give full details of the time, date and address where the incident occurred. Where possible please complete the relevant form below.
- The requester must send payment of £65.00 (cheques should be made payable to ‘Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service’). In respect of a fire investigation report - this is priced on application.
