Our firefighters at Red Watch High Handenhold are always looking of ways to engage more with the vulnerable and homeless within their community.

So, back in 2017, the crew got involved to help build a radio station in PACT House Stanley. Working together with Stanley Police and Stanley Town Council it's hoped the radio station would benefit the local residents.

Not only did they help with the build, but they often help on Christmas Day to spread some festive cheer and to serve / deliver Christmas Dinner around the local area.

Crew Manager Scott Forward, said: "We work very closely with the Police and PACT, to try and better their area and safety of the community in the Stanley."

Now, looking back over the past five years, the Café has now moved from strength to strength and is delivering free meals, supporting local people with cost-of-living crisis, and delivering well needed Mental health support.

Darren McMahon who works at Pact House Stanley, commented “On Christmas Day PACT House will be providing over 130 free lunches. The Community Café is proving a lifeline for many local families offering a mix of affordable meals for £2 as well has two free community meals on Wednesday evening and Saturday lunchtime. Red Watch have always been a great supporter of PACT House, and it’s our pleasure to have the shift help out, especially over Christmas”
