Home Fire Safety Visit Request
We encourage all households to have a home fire safety visit with our service; your safety is our priority.
During a home fire safety visit staff from your local fire station come to your home to chat about how to keep you and your family safe from fire. This includes checking you have working smoke alarms to using electrical items and planning a safe escape in an emergency.
If you would like a home fire safety visit you can:
- Call us on 03452 234 221. This is covered Monday to Friday 08:30-16:30, if calling outside of these hours please press option 2 and leave a message containing your name and telephone number and we will return your call when back in the office.
- Complete our online Home Fire Safety Form. While completing the form, tailored safety advice will be provided based on your responses. The form typically takes around 15 minutes to complete. Once submitted, the assessed level of risk will determine the response from our Service. If necessary, or if you request it, we will arrange a Home Fire Safety Visit. During this visit, we can install smoke alarms where needed, offer practical home safety guidance, and provide advice on what to do in the event of a fire.
If you are a professional and would like to make a referral for a service user, please complete our partner referral form.
We ask our partners to fill in the referral form as this obtains additional details to the online form above and assists the visit to be allocated to the appropriate team. If you are unsure about which referral to make, please call 03452 234 221 and we are happy to discuss this further.

If you or someone you know is hearing impaired and might not hear a smoke alarm sound when sleeping, sensory loss smoke alarms could help keep you safe. These are provided by the social care teams in the local council.
