Sarah Brownson, FireWatch System Administrator.

Sarah Brownson works in the Service's Information Services department, based at HQ, administrating one of the main staff recording databases, known as FireWatch.

She is also responsible for coordinating data requests, such as Freedom of Information and Subject Access requests.

Sarah grew up in Spennymoor, County Durham, and always saw herself working with animals when she was a child.

She was just 17 years old when she started her career with CDDFRS, joining in 2014 as a Business Administration Apprentice in the Training Department.

Sarah recalls one of her proudest achievements to date was when she was awarded Apprentice of the Year.

On completion of her apprenticeship, she became a Training Administrator where she worked for seven years and this is also how she met her partner, Tom, who is a Firefighter here at CDDFRS.

The best part of her job?

“The people," Sarah said.

"I genuinely enjoy coming into work and I am grateful that my role allows me to work alongside many different departments and people across the Service.”

In her spare time, Sarah loves to keep active and is a keen equestrian. She enjoys taking part in equestrian sport with her horses, Atomic and Betty.

When she’s not horsing around, she can be found outdoors, walking her three Labradors; Lucy, Sandy and Pippa.
