Health & Safety

Our Health and Safety Policy Objectives

We require our officers, managers and employees to pursue the achievement of the following objectives as a means of implementing our Health and Safety Policy:
  • To make provision for dealing with all foreseeable emergency, hazard and risk situations that are likely to arise in any authorised activities, and to minimise the impact and reduce the likelihood of any occurrence or reoccurrence;
  • To define an organisational structure that confirms the responsibilities of management, enabling all employees to identify their respective accountabilities and responsibilities with regard to health and safety;
  • To establish meaningful arrangements for joint consultation on health and safety issues;
  • To provide guidance and advice for procedures on health and safety issues to ensure a consistency of approach;
  • To identify the need for and, where necessary, provide health and safety training;
  • To monitor and measure the health and safety performance in all activities, in particular conforming to the procedures outlined within our Health and Safety Management Plan, acting on all conclusions;
  • To provide, so far as is reasonably practicable, adequate resources for achieving the standards required by our Health and Safety policy;
  • To maintain contact with other organisations in order to take advantages of their experience in dealing with health and safety issues;
  • To ensure that all health and safety needs are properly addressed and prioritised in forward planning, especially where new developments, changes or modifications to activities and facilities are to be instigated, including the proper identification of hazards and the assessment of risks, before anything is introduced into our routine or operational procedures, (this includes the acquisition of new plant, equipment and facilities); and
  • To ensure all third parties using or working our premises, or providing a service and/or facility to us and other third parties, are observing and operating to standards that we specify or approve.
