Communications Project Research & Development We constantly update our equipment to improve the way it operates. This requires research to find the best possible solutions.
Current projects include:
- Main radio system replacement project known as the Fire Link project. This is a major project involving a government team and every fire brigade in the UK.
- Mobile data research which will result in fire appliances being installed with computers which we can send important data to such as hydrant information, building plans and hazardous chemical data.
- Microwave link project to enable us to communicate data to our sites in greater quantity and at higher speeds.
