About Us

Role of the Fire Service

Our primary role is to protect life and property and to provide a quality fire and rescue service. This involves; being proactive, identifying hazards and taking action to reduce risks, promoting awareness and being an effective emergency response and planning service.

Our responsibilities include:
  • carrying out Fire Safety Inspections to all places of work;
  • issuing Fire Certificates;
  • informing, educating and promoting fire safety in the community;
  • inspecting and monitoring petrol stores;
  • issuing Petroleum Licenses;
  • planning and training for emergencies; and
  • providing a 24 hour response to emergency incidents.
