About Us Role of the Fire Service Our primary role is to protect life and property and to provide a quality fire and rescue service. This involves; being proactive, identifying hazards and taking action to reduce risks, promoting awareness and being an effective emergency response and planning service.
Our responsibilities include:
- carrying out Fire Safety Inspections to all places of work;
- issuing Fire Certificates;
- informing, educating and promoting fire safety in the community;
- inspecting and monitoring petrol stores;
- issuing Petroleum Licenses;
- planning and training for emergencies; and
- providing a 24 hour response to emergency incidents.
